Icann gains independence from the US

Meyer, David. "Icann gains independence from the US" ZDnet. 30 Septeber, 2009.  http://news.zdnet.co.uk/internet/0,1000000097,39780163,00.htm?tag=mncol;txt

When I saw this the first question I had was, "What is Icann?". Icann stands for, The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Icann is an internet body that mostly worked with top priority information for the government such as, domain-name system management and IP addresses. Why would they sign away from the USA and become a completely independent organization? Beckstrom says, "One world, one internet, everyone connected — this is our goal at Icann,". Now the Icann is not attached to any one, we can expect to see more from them in the near future. Icann will help monitor transactions and lessen fraud. They are now becoming world wide. Many are saying that this is just one more step to a more advanced way of life in the future.

My response to this article is Go For It! I am always excited to hear about Technology upgrades, and if its going to make out life safer then i am all in for it. if the main purpose of all of this is to lessen fraud/scam, then I don't think it is going to work... No mater what we do there will always be some bad guys who beats the system. I this that Icann becoming independent is a good thing. Lets just try to make the best of it.

Disney Acquires Marvel For $4 Billion

Shima, Ryan. "Disney Acquires Marvel For $4 Billion." The Huffington Post 31 August 2009

Yes it is true Disney yet again takes over another part of the media! For $4 Billion Disney buys out Marvel. The Huffington Post says this can lead to new rides, movies, and action figures. Many people are looking up on the subject saying that they dearly love both companies so when you put them together it should be even better. Right? Some people have the opposite opinion.

I feel that this matter has both ups and downs to it. I love Disney. I love Marvel. Each separate have many strong points of admiration. I also feel that Disney owns pretty much everything in my life already so do they really need to own every super hero too? It will be very intresting to see over the next couple years what they come out with.
